How to Import/Refresh Folders

This operation may be useful if you only want to import (or refresh) a specific folder (and its sub-folders), and don't want to have your other established folders scanned.

• Click on the icon on the toolbar.

• In the Import/Refresh Files to Media Library dialog box click on the Import/Refresh... Folder button.

Note: If you wish to import folders, that are contained within the folder you are going to select, make sure that the Recurse sub-folders option is checked.

• Navigate to the folder that contains your files, the default folder for Ots Album files is C:\OtsLabs\OtsFiles\MyMusic .

• Click the folder.

• Click the OK button.

What will occur:

Your folder will be scanned for Ots Album, Wave, and MP3 files. If any of these files are found they will be imported into the Media Library.

Note: The importing process for Wave and MP3 files will take a few moments per file, due to the data being retrieved, analyzed and stored. This process is a once off process due to the fact that the retrieved information will be stored in both the Media Library and an associated .OMX file.

Tip: You can instantly play the imported files while the rest of your files are being imported.

You will receive the Import/Refresh Files Summary, which summarises the import process.  

If new files are encountered, they will be imported. If existing files are encountered, they will be refreshed, if they have changed since last imported/refreshed.

Tip: In most cases the Easy Scan operation is easier and achieves the same result.
