Step 5: Setting the Range Start markers

A Range Start marker can be positioned in the Intro Range and the Outro Range. This marker tells OtsAV the earliest point at which audio may be heard in an automated beat mix, from either the Intro or Outro Ranges.

The marker can be moved by clicking on the top of the marker, and dragging it with your mouse, using either the Upper Waveform display, or the Lower Waveform display.

Tip: Hold the CTRL key on your keyboard while dragging the marker in the Upper Waveform display, and the Range Start marker will snap to the beat grid.

Intro Range Start marker

The Intro Range Start marker should be dragged to the earliest point where you want the audio to be part of the beat mix. If you don't want part of the intro played during automated beat mixing, position the marker immediately after the unwanted audio. For an example, see here.

Outro Range Start marker

The Outro Range Start marker should be dragged to the earliest point where you want the audio to start being part of the beat mix. If you don't want part of the outro played during automated beat mixing, position the marker immediately after the unwanted audio. For an example, see here.

Note: You can check the exact position of your markers by using the Zoom buttons.
