How to set up a Time Sync directive

The Time Sync directive, when placed before an item, will cause that item to play at the time specified in the Time Sync directive.

Note: The OtsAV clock is a 24 hour clock, therefore time must be entered into the Insert Time Sync dialog box in 24 hour mode. (e.g. 14:00:00 for 2pm)

The Time Sync directive is an extremely powerful directive. Below are examples of what you can achieve with the Time Sync directive.

Overnight satellite feed

This example will cause OtsAV to, at 11pm, stop whatever is playing and start the Live Input function (so the satellite feed will be routed through Ots's audio pipeline). At 8am, Live Input will be switched off, and play will resume with the next item in the playlist.

<...Playlist Items>

Time Sync (23:00:00)

Live Input On

Time Sync (08:00:00)

Live Input Off

<Playlist Items...>

Hourly news feeds

This example will cause OtsAV to start the Live Input function on the hour, pause for 4 minutes (while routing the news through Ots's audio pipeline), and then resume with the next item in the playlist.

Pause (240 secs)

Playing the first minute of each track

This example will cause only the first minute of each track to play, as the Time Sync directives will match any hour, and any minute, but at zero seconds, which translates to the start of each minute.

Automatically starting and stopping play at specified times.

This example cause OtsAV to not start playing music until 8 am, play all day, then no matter where it is up to in the playlist, will stop playing at 5:30 pm.
