Hardware Requirements

Video and CD+G playback may use a lot of system resources, however most current computers are capable of smooth playback using OtsAV.

Audio & Video Minimum System Requirements:

Note: These minimum specifications will work with the OtsAV Video/CD+G subsystem in "Optimised Definition" mode when video/CD+G is not being sped up too greatly, VCD-equivalent or CD+G based Ots files are used and output is set to 4:3 aspect ratio.

For incredible video speeding up power, large differences in BPM for automated video beat mixing, output in widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio mode, usage of unencrypted VOB-based Ots files, and using the higher "Standard Definition" mode, see the recommended system requirements in the next section below. (CPU specifications in between will allow increasingly more power and scope with features which can be used without maxing out the CPU. Dual Core CPUs make a significant difference. OtsAV video output always provides a full 50/60 motion updates per second in all modes - double the rate of the vast majority of other software. This is key to providing the TrueSmooth™ experience.)

OS: Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit)
CPU: Pentium IV 2.8GHz or equivalent.
RAM: 512MB or more.
Audio: A sound card with WDM or ASIO drivers. (M-Audio or Creative soundcards recommended.)
Video: A video card capable of 32-bit "true-color" mode with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher, 64MB or more, and TV-out. ATI (recommended) or NVIDIA, with up-to-date drivers.
Diskspace: OtsAV, Ots Studio, average-sized OML database file and documentation will only occupy about 15MB.
CD-ROM: To use the CD Digital Audio direct capabilities, you will need a CD-ROM drive which can accurately read CD-DA streams (most name brands manufactured in the last few years are fine).
Other: DirectX 7 or higher.

Audio & Video Recommended System Requirements:

(Lower CPU specs may be used, however it may limit the combination of video features which can be used simultaneously, and speed at which video can be increased to, before the CPU 'maxs' out.
