Preparing your media collection

Before you load your media collection into OtsTurntables we recommend that you spend some time preparing your collection.

Note: To play MP3 or Wave files in OtsTurntables they must have a Sample Rate of 44,100Hz, which is the present industry standard. The Bit Rate can be any bit rate including Variable Bit Rate.

 

How to prepare your MP3 files

OtsTurntables uses the MP3 filename for labelling purposes. We recommend that you make sure your MP3 files follow the standard naming convention, which is Artist - Title.mp3.

 

How to prepare your Wave files

OtsTurntables will retrieve the Wave filename for labelling purposes. We recommend that you make sure your Wave filenames follow the standard naming convention, which is Artist - Title.wav.

 

Converting your media to the Ots Album file format

Ots Studio is a utility available for the purpose of converting your music files to the Ots Album file format. We recommend that our customers eventually migrate their files to the Ots Album file format for a number of advantageous reasons. For more details on the Ots Album file format click here.

You are able to simply and efficiently rip and encode your CDs directly into the Ots Album file format with the Ots Studio application.
