Command Line control

The OtsAV command line feature enables you to command OtsAV to process a number of tasks at program start up. Tasks include: switching on/off OtsAV functions and options, loading and playing files and lists, enabling the Scheduling & Logging tool, loading multiple instances, and enabling multiple streams.

Command line arguments consist of options and file arguments. They reside in the properties of an icon, in the Target field. For a greater understanding of these components please click here. For a detailed list of the command line options available click here.

A "real life" example of the command line feature in action is the OtsAV (CD Play) icon. This icon contains a command line that tells OtsAV to read the CD in the CD-ROM, generate a playlist and automatically play the generated playlist. Let's have a look at the OtsAV command line option.

Note: The command line needs to reflect the version of OtsAV you are using.
OtsAVDJ.exe for OtsAV DJ Product License owners
OtsAVRD.exe for OtsAV Radio Product License owners
OtsAVTV.exe for OtsAV TV Product License owners
OtsAVDJt.exe for OtsAV DJ Trial users
OtsAVRDt.exe for OtsAV Radio Trial users
OtsAVTVt.exe for OtsAV TV Trial users

We have provided a number of command line examples, which you will find very useful. See below for examples. You can add command line arguments to your existing OtsAV icons, or you may wish to create new icons for this purpose. For details on creating a new icon click here.
